i have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat. we have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. we have before us many, many months of struggle and suffering. you ask, what is our aim? i can answer in one word, it is victory. victory at all costs—victory in spite of all terrors—victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival. let that be realized, no survival for the british empire, no survival for all that british empire has stood for , no survival for the urge, the impulse of the ages, that mankind shall more forward toward his goal. i take up my task in buoyancy and hope. i feel sure that our cause will not be suffered to fail among men. i feel entitled at this juncture, at this time, to claim the aid of all and to say, come then, let us go forward together with our united strength.

last summer, i volunteered(动词) to work as an english teacher in a primary school for children of migrant workers. to be accurate, i didn't volunteer. i was dragged in literally. when my friends first hit upon the idea of this project. i was all against it. 'what?' to spend my vacation standing in the heat yelling at a bunch of nine-year-olds who couldn't even speak proper mandarin chinese? and besides. there's no pay for my toil. no. i am definitely not going. my friends twisted my arms to have me join them.

unexpectedly, the first lesson i taught turned out a lesson for me. the moment i stepped into the shabby classroom. i was touched by the loud, respectful voices in unison. 'good morning teacher !' instead of fooling around, the children were thirsty for knowledge and efficient in absorbing everything i was able to give them. this made me despise myself for i hadn't even prepared for the class. during the break. i leaned over the squeaky desk, chatting with a sweaty boy in the front row. "without air-conditioning, it's really hot here. are you tired?" not at all. said he. shaking his head. it's fine here. my dad builds asphalt roads. that is really tiring and hot.

as summer advanced. my enthusiasm as a teacher grew. i prepared my lesson carefully and even used some methods my teachers used. i organized many group activities to give the kids fun. strangely enough the heat was also becoming less and less unbearable. soon, my one-month volunnteer came to an end. when i was leaving my last class, i turned back and saw smiling faces and waving hands. never before had i ever had such a feeling of sadness. which was, nevertheless, mixed with a sense of enrichment, fulfillment and happiness. i was paid for my work, amply paid, not in terms of money, but something more valuable.

my english was improved, i was able to teach it, although not very professional. i learned about the grassroots-level society. inside myself a heart is growing. a heart that not only beats for myself. but cares for others as well. the volunteer work gave me a precious little chance of saying thanks. to people like the little boy's father who construct highways and undergrounds, build up modern skyscrapers, and make our cities more and more beautiful. to help the children with their english was all i could do at present to show my gratitude to these unsung heroes. the world may not have been fair to them. so privileged and blessed people like me make their life better. whatever i do for them, however, i know it can't be compared with what they have done to improve the quality of life in our cities. ladies and gentlemen. now i realize that voluntary shouldn't be just a one-time personal experience. it should be a lifetime activity of everybody. many of us are now offering assistance to the needy and to each other and our efforts have indeed made a difference schooling,---- or caring for the elderly in nursing homes, and helping out in 20xx beijing olympics, will not only contribute to the harmony of the world but elevate ourselves as well. emerson once said, "it's one of the most beautiful compensations of this life no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself" he was right. i hear that my university is going to organize another voluntary teaching program this summer. this time i won't be dragged in. i will volunteer. thank you !

high three students, our footprint is binding on the cover of the season, the cover page of life, we will go to journey in june next year, run towards the dreams of june.

many people say that the high three students like jingwei filling the stream, his mouth as if never plays with abc and xyz, thick lens grew up, grew thin hair down... three means that enrich the sunrise, sunset.

so, three high school year is doomed to be heavy, heavy learning, heavy, heavy expectations, with lots of attention... everything is in order to heavy harvest. harvest, insist on, in the struggle! nietzsche said: "a tree should grow taller, accept more light, then its root must be deeper into the darkness." and the third year is tough and lonely to grow like a tree.

we all know that: "the youth is beautiful". it not only beautiful in the beautiful appearance, even more beautiful in uplifting the spirit of the beauty in involve forward determination. we are ordinary, because we and other cold window study hard scholar as well as in the dream; we are special, because we need to do is a life the most critical.

content is always happy, not happy people regularly, few people can know need how much effort to realize the dream of heart, we can only move forward, forward, forward again. so we're going to have such a determination and drive: "stick to it, never give up!" don't pick the fruit of autumn in the summer. pick, food is not sweet, abandon a pity, or wait until the harvest season to taste the joy of harvest!

mansquo;s life is a process of growing up, actually isquo;m standing here is a growth. if a personsquo;s life must constituted by various choices, then i grow up along with these choices. once i hope i can study in a college in future, however thatsquo;s passed, as you know i come here, now i wonder what the future holds for (= what will happen to) me.

when i come to this school, i told to myself: this my near future, all starts here. following i will learn to become a man, a integrated man, who has a fine body, can take on important task, has independent thought, an open mind, intensive thought, has the ability to judge right and wrong, has a perfect job.

once my teacher said : you are not sewing, you are stylist; never forget which you should lay out to people is your thought, not craft. i will put my personality with my interest and ability into my study, during these process i will combine learning with doing. if i can achieve this future, i think that i really grow up. and i deeply believe kindred, good-fellowship and love will perfection and happy in the future.

how to say future? maybe itsquo;s a nice wish. lets make up our minds, stick to it and surely well enjoy our life.

how well are we in tune with the rhythm of life? in our busy day to day existence, we donsquo;t often stop to ask ourselves this question. at least i donsquo;t. and it wasnsquo;t until i joined a competitive sporting event that i learned a most important lesson – we must place our mind in harmony with the natural order of things to be successful.

i decided to take part in an international marathon in my hometown last year. being an ambitious person, i hoped to finish it within 5 hours, accompanied by my friend with whom i had trained.

at first, we kept a rapid pace and ran nonstop. at this pace, we finished the first 20 kilometers in 2 hours and i thought running a marathon was a piece of cake. then my running mate began to slow down. i urged him to keep running at the same pace but he said no, he wanted to conserve his energy. i felt i had partnered with the wrong person, therefore, i sprinted on and left him behind in the dust.

a few kilometers later, i began to understand his strategy as my pace slowed to a jog then a walk. after that i was incapable of moving another step. i was humiliated as more and more people ran passed me. more than once i thought "maybe i should quit." i started to doubt my ability to finish this race.

at this moment, my running mate caught up with me and slapped me on the back. follow me, he shouted. he had balanced his marathon pace and was encouraged me to do the same. for the rest of this grueling contest, we walked, jogged, ran a few miles, and walked again. slowly, painfully but hopefully this time, we established the most suitable pace within the natural flow of our physical capabilities.

eventually we accomplished our first marathon of 42 kilometers in 4 and half hours. i asked myself, what did this marathon mean to me? my marathon experience became an influential metaphor for my life about how we must learn to pace ourselves in everything, by being in tune with the rhythm of life.

like the tide that ebbs and flows, we must listen to advice but make our own decisions. like the show at dawn and dusk, we must learn to balance pride and modesty. and from the way the wind can both shout and whisper, we must learn when to be strong and when to be gentle, for everything moves in its own rhythm and its own yin and yang elements. it is the interaction of these complementary extremes that produces harmony, as laozi said, extremes meet. since the marathon, this notion of two opposite forces working together has been my running partner, so to speak. yin and yang exist everywhere, constantly interacting, and never existing in an absolute condition.

ladies and gentlemen, life is like running a marathon, let us discover, define and develop a natural rhythm of life, in order to achieve both harmony and success.
